Beat Of My Art

Art Class

Our Vision

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.
-Pablo Picasso

We are dedicated to providing a supportive and inspiring environment where creativity thrives, skills flourish, and passions are ignited.

Beat of my Art aspires to  foster artistic expression, nurturing talent, and building our community. We celebrate the enjoyment in the process of art, music, and movement over a finished product.

Story time

Hi! I am Shaey, Nana, Mrs. Anthony, writer, artist, mom, daughter, and friend.
I had been on a worship team for 20 years, and worked in early childhood education for a decade before an illness caused me to step away from that which I loved. During my healing process, I had discovered a love for art and incorporating music and movement within my art process. I have enjoyed leading paint parties, giving workshops, organizing artist intuition nights with music, teaching process art classes to autistic individuals, creating music and movement programs for childcare centers, and have returned to the classroom as a full-time Pre-K teacher. My wheels began turning as I saw my needs, and the needs within the classroom have shifted from 7 years ago. I saw how much my classes have benefitted from learning through art, music, and movement, rather than rote flashcards and worksheets so often found in many programs. I recognized a need for some young children to be introduced to a class environment with a more relaxed and creative approach. This got the wheels turning and I asked myself, "What kind of programs do I dream for my grandchildren, and how can I teach while continuing to grow my art community?"
Thus... Beat of my Art was born.
